What would you do if you weren't afraid to do it? Would you publish a book? Open a restaurant? Produce a movie? Cure a disease? Invent something? Did you ever set a goal that seemed like maybe you were reaching a little too high but you couldn't help yourself, you decided to reach anyway?
I did. I do. And I did it. I reached.
I'd like to invite you to come along with me as I embark on my next adventure that combines 2 of my passions: reading books and talking with friends. I'd like to invite you to listen to my podcast.
That's right, podcast. Debbie and I have a podcast. If you are a podcast virgin let me give you a little more information: podcasts are audio or video blogs. Debbie and I decided to create an audio podcast where we will review books, blogs, authors, basically anything written down. Our inaugral podcast is now live and can be found on our blog http://www.undercoverwithdebandbeth.blogspot.com/ or downloaded from iTunes. Just type deb and beth in the search bar.
In our first podcast we review the Stephanie Plum series written by Janet Evanovich. For our next podcast we're planning to discuss the combined works from author Stacey Ballis. Our style is casual, the audio mix a bit amateur, the intro music probably a little dated, yet I am so proud of the overall product that I am just about bursting. I'd love to have you listen along. Download the podcast (it's free) and even better subscribe so you get our regular updates.
And while you're listening to us, think about your dream. And then reach.

Way to go! I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but I will!
Hey Beth, I just finished listening. I have to say, you and Deb are the most perfect people to do podcasts because not only do you have great insight, you both have such beautiful speaking voices!
I have never read anything by that particular author. I have this personal rule when choosing books: If an author has row after row of books at the library I keep hunting. I have found that authors who only write a book every few years appeal more to me.
Since there are a finite amount of books that I can read in a lifetime, I want what I read to feel like an experience, something that helps me understand a situation that I am otherwise unlikely to fully appreciate. I found that with books like "The Kite Runner", "The Help", "The Bluest Eye" and "The Shack" I closed the book with a deeper knowledge of situations that I likely will never encounter.
Looking forward to your next podcast-I'd love to hear your take on books turned into movies. Good for you for taking a chance to live a dream.
Wow you two never seace(sp?) to amaze me. How cool and congratulations....
Hey! Got to listen finally, and really enjoyed it. First I just enjoyed listening to your voice (I don't hear it enough!). I also enjoyed listening to the discussion about Janet/Stephanie. I almost felt like I was listening to one of the many discussions you and I have had about these books. However, Deb provided a bit more depth than I do. I liked hearing how you are going backwards in the books--I hadn't realized how MUCH has been missing in these last few books. Anyway, good for you and Deb! In addition to books that become movies, it might be interesting to take that to kids' books that have become movies. Just a thought...as a mom I also have read so many kids books that have become movies, and would like to listen to your take on that. Jack and I had a wonderful discussion about "The Lightning Thief" after seeing the movie.
